Shannah Steel, DO, is a board-certified Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine providing superior primary care services for the community of Pleasant View, Tennessee, at her practice, Steel Family Medicine.
Dr. Steel began her career at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine before joining the United States Army. She continued her studies during her time in the Army and undertook her residency at DeWitt Hospital, Ft. Belvoir, Virginia. After completing her residency, Dr. Steel served as the officer-in-charge of the Blue Clinic at Blanchfield Hospital, Fort Campbell, Kentucky, which supported a patient population of over 10,000, made up of active duty soldiers and family members of all ages.
After leaving the Army, Dr. Steel set up her private practice, Steel Family Medicine in Pleasant View. She specializes in family medicine, and cares deeply about all her patients, striving to provide them with the best possible care whether they need urgent medical attention, or have chronic health problems that require complex management.
Dr.Steel understands the importance of prevention/wellness and enjoys helping people with weight loss in order to treat and prevent further worsening of many chronic diseases. She also provides aesthetic services for patients to complement medical services.
Dr. Steel lives in Pleasant View with her husband and two children, where she is proud to be a part of her local community.
Karen Parham, DNP, FNP-C

Karen is a state and nationally-certified family nurse practitioner (NP-C) with her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). She is a TDOT certified provider. A Hoosier by birth, but now calls Tennessee home. Karen is an Army Veteran, married to a retired-Army Warrant Officer. They enjoy travelling to the National Parks, learning to homestead, and cooking while making memories at home. Karen graduated from Valparaiso University in Indiana with a bachelor’s of science in psychology, then served our country for seven years before being honorably discharged as a captain to be a present mother and pursue her career in healthcare where she can help others accomplish their healthcare goals! Karen attributes her leadership skills to her time as an Artillery Officer, directly incorporated into her leadership style, character, morals, and values. In a diverse community, she upholds integrity and honor and is an inclusive and loyal team member, showing respect to all while positively impacting patient health.
Karen obtained her Bachelor of Nursing from Belmont University then served as a bedside nurse in the NICU and Mother/Baby units while her family was stationed in Savannah, Georgia. She graduated with her Master of Science in Family Practice (FNP), and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), both from Vanderbilt University. Her healthcare quality improvement project for her doctorate focused on technology-assisted weight loss in primary rural care clinics. Karen believes in lifelong education, understanding there is always room for growth to further her knowledge and improve patient care. Karen desires to promote and restore health and prevent illness while helping patients cope with disparities and disabilities. Her passion is to improve the patient’s quality of life by advocating for their individualized healthcare goals and viewing each patient holistically and individually. Karen loves helping patients with; Diabetes, Thyroid Dx, hormone imbalances, Hypertension, and she especially loves helping others to reach their weight loss goals, with Semaglutide & Tirzepatide therapy!
Caitlin Jones, FNP-BC

Caitlin was born and raised abroad in a military family. She served as an active duty Army officer for seven years at Fort Campbell and continues to serve in the Tennessee Army National Guard. Caitlin earned a Bachelor of Arts in French and Master of Science in Nursing from Vanderbilt University, as well as a Master of Healthcare Administration with honors from Austin Peay State University. Caitlin is proud to call Pleasant View home, and enjoys building close relationships with patients as a local primary care provider. She also is interested in a holistic approach to women’s health, and is formally trained in the Marquette Method of natural family planning. Caitlin enjoys coffee, traveling, and spending time with her husband and four children.
Claire Miller, MSN, FNP-BC, APRN
Claire is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of North Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, then served as a bedside nurse in the NICU and outpatient surgical center. She graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Master of Science in Nursing degree. She has a special interest in the role of nutrition in health maintenance and disease prevention. She is married to an Active Duty soldier and is proud to call Clarksville home. She is originally from North Georgia. She enjoys hiking and camping at The Land Between the Lakes, as well as baking, painting, photography, and walking her dog.
Brenna Metcalf, MSN, FNP-BC, APRN
Brenna Metcalf is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She graduated from Austin Peay State University with her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing. She then spent 5 years as an Emergency Room Nurse and Charge Nurse. She returned to Austin Peay to obtain her Master’s in Nursing degree and has been with Steel Family Medicine since. She enjoys traveling with her family, specifically Disney World and the beach! She enjoys concerts and new experiences with her husband, children, and closest friends. Brenna looks forward to caring for you and your family.
